We Survived!

The last few days we spent in Korea were a little hectic. We finished moving, cleared the post, and checked into the hotel on post and basically just say around waiting to fly out.

We were sad to leave but excited to get a move on. The worst part of PCSing is mostly the stress of getting everything done while living in limbo. Running errands without a car and living in hotel room is never ideal and we were ready to get out of there.

On top of all the PCS stress, we all came down with a head cold the night before our flight. Awesome, right?

On Thursday morning we got up at 5:30 to finish packing and get everything ready to go. We left the hotel at 7 am stuffed into a taxi like a bunch of clowns in a clown car and made our way to Osan. After stopping by the gas station for cold medicine, checking out from Jake’s company, grabbing our stroller bag from our old house and fighting morning traffic, we made in to the Osan airport by 8 am. We checked our bags and made our way to the waiting area where we say all the way until 11:30. An hour and a half later we landed in Japan for a 2 and a half hour layover.

8 and a half painful hours later we finally made it to Seattle International.

But the fun didn’t end there! We had a flight scheduled to Sacramento at 9 pm so we got to hang out at the airport for 12 HOURS. So crazy! Luckily SeaTac has an awesome USO where we were able to hold our bags and all catch a nap.

Around 7, we went to grab some dinner and let Addison run off some energy.

After over 36 hours of traveling our little lady was spent and we were all feeling pretty exhausted.

At around midnight we made it to Sacramento and my parents were so excited to see Addison. They grabbed her out of the stroller and walked off towards the car while Jake and I handled the rest. It’s true how once you have kids, it isn’t about you anymore. ;)

All in all, I would say that was probably one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had but everyone survived and no adults cried so that was a plus. We are so happy to be home visiting in California with my family and now the countdown starts to Ft. Lewis!!!
